The Legal, Non-Prescription Alternative

Cannanda is proud and excited to present one of our greatest innovations: our CB2 blend is a legal, non-prescription alternative to cannabidiol (CBD) or used to enhance your CBD experience. CBD is the popular cannabis compound that has significant health benefits, but lacks the intoxicating effects of its sister compound, THC. This means you get a number of incredible health benefits without feeling "high," and it delivers these benefits by positively influencing the endocannabinoid system (ECS; the body's master regulator of homeostasis).

Unfortunately, prior to legalization in Canada, CBD was only legally available by prescription only, or not-so-legally through cannabis dispensaries. After legalization in late 2018, CBD continues to be legally available only through controlled distribution from licensed outlets.

In order to bring these benefits to a growing number of individuals through open distribution, Cannanda's research and development has created our proprietary CB2 terpene blend, which harnesses the power of terpenes in a very specific blend that promotes the function of the ECS. This unique blend achieves its effects through the activation of one of the main receptors of the ECS, a receptor called the cannabinoid receptor type 2 (CB2).

Activating the CB2 Receptor

CB2 is one of the two main receptors of the ECS. There are numerous benefits to activating this receptor without activating the CB1 receptor (the receptor THC activates, and is responsible for the "high" associated with cannabis). The following is a small list of studies illustrating the benefits of CB2 activation.

  • Activating CB2 receptors is not how CBD is thought to work. This is because CBD only has a very weak ability to bind to CB2 receptors.
  • Newer studies suggest CBD may influence cannabinoid receptor shape and/or inhibit the enzymes that breakdown our endocannabinoids. This means our own endocannabinoids can then activate CB2 receptors, and could be how we get the benefits from CBD products.
  • However, if we can supply the body with external sources of compounds that directly activate CB2 receptors (such as those found in our CB2 blends, we can amplify those benefits. It's actually the perfect combination!
Suggested Use: Best used through direct inhalation (place about 3 drops in your hand, rub hands together, cup around nose/mouth, and take slow, deep breaths). For sublingual use, place 2 or 3 drops under your tongue, and hold it there for about a minute before swallowing. May be used as a natural flavour (for example, 2-5 drops may be be added to a tablespoon of any edible oil of your choosing), or even used topically for targeted local relief (optional: use a tiny bit of a carrier oil to slow evaporation of the terpenes).
